WARM WEATHER LATE OCTOBER

The temperatures have been around 70 making the fishing on Pyramid Lake a bit slow. Shore fishing is going well during early morning and evening bites. With this warmer weather a boat or float tube during mid day hours are helpful in getting anglers to deeper and colder water where the fish are cruising. We’ve been Landing fish on the popcorn beetle and white Clouser. Let’s hope for some storms coming in and colder weather soon!

OCTOBER FISHING- ALGAE BLOOM

The season is underway and reports are good. Float tubers are doing well with their lines in deeper waters. The lake has a large algae bloom right now, once it clears out the shore fishing should get really good!

WINTER IS HERE

It’s October 1, 2017 and that means the Pyramid Lake fishing season is now open! The water temps are cooling off around 65 degrees, and the lake is turning over with moss and algae. Once that green clears out the shore fishing should be phenomenal! The bait balls are dissipating but can still be found. The shores are crowded with anglers anxious to get out on the alkaline lake.

Be sure to read Tribal regulations before heading out to chase those massive Lahontan cutties. Be respectful, crimp your barbs, park at least 100 feet from shore, use only artificial flies and lures, know your keep limits, clean up after yourselves, and stay warm!
