More mild weather and good fishing! January is one of the most underrated months to fish Pyramid. The water temps can make the fishing inconsistent, but this year has been good so far, we even landed another 20 lber! Get out there ~

DECEMBER WAS GREAT!
We’ve had a mild winter on Pyramid Lake Nevada, which often means not great fishing, but not this season! The fishing has been good, with not too bad of crowds- weekends are busier.
Pyramid Lake Lodge is booking accommodations just a few weeks out, so if you are calling in for rooms with no luck keep trying. The store is open and they are doing takeout food.
21 POUNDS TO THE NET!
NOVEMBER FISHING 2020
MARCH PRIME TIME
We are in the height of peak season on Pyramid! The fishing is great, even on bluebird days. Greg and Andy were able to hit a storm last weekend and reel in over 80 fish in just 3 days, including some Big Boys in the teens! We’ve had some dates open up in March so if you’ve been looking now is the time! Early April is a great time to fish Pyramid from shore as well.
HOPING FOR COLDER WEATHER!
The warm and calm weather seems to have put a damper on the fishing on Pyramid Lake. Fish are still being landed but it is relatively slow, and anglers are really needing to put their time in to land fish. This lake takes patience. Typically it really turns on after Thanksgiving so let’s hope this year is the same. A nice windy storm rolled in today, and the temperatures dropped around midday so let’s hope that carries over to the water temps. We still like that magic hour, we landed three around dusk!
NICE CATCH AT THE NETS
John Cancilla landed this healthy Pyramid Lake strain cutty (aka Summit Lake strain) just before sundown tonight at the Nets on Pyramid. The winds were heading east away from shore and the weather had been calm so we expected the bite to be slow- but John landed this bad boy just 15 minutes in- we didn’t get out to the lake until about 6 and out on the water about 6:30pm. John fished the Truckee river this morning with Guide Doug Ouellette and finished off the evening out at Pyramid with friends Jeff Eichelberger and Julianne Peterson. It was the only fish landed in the short two hour outing- with a few more bites missed by the crew. Overall it was successful day on the water!
LOTS OF FISH- DESPITE THE CALM WEEKEND WEATHER
This past weekend was a beautiful calm one on Pyramid Lake, NV. The fish tend to be MIA during such pleasant conditions- but Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were all productive. The beaches are crowded with campers, ladders, and fishermen right now but you can still squeeze in a spot if you get out early enough. Some large fish in double digits were reported. Our clients landed several nice fish Saturday, and we had a great day fishing with friend and client John Cancilla, and guide Doug Ouellette on Sunday. Later in the day Julianne busted out the jig rig and nailed 3 fish in a row cast for cast. Nick mimicked her technique on a floater-no-cator rig popping the midge and nailed a nice Pilot Peak to end the day.
PYRAMID LAKE CLINIC- MARCH 10, 2016
We had the pleasure of providing this great group with some instruction and fly fishing at our Clinic this Thursday on Pyramid Lake. Guides Doug Ouellette, Matt Gilligan, and Nick Jackson bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this unique fishery. Fun group of people- they were great learners and landed some great fish! Thanks to Wayne and the group for the photos and good company.
