With winter storms moving into the area water temps are dropping- which means good fishing from shore. There were several reports of double digit fish being landed in the past week. The deeper shelves have been more productive than shallower flats, and the afternoon bite has also been producing nice fish. Try Doug’s Popcorn Beetle, a Booby in white/chartreuse, a large Wooly Worm with a red tail, or Tui Chub patterns!

PYRAMID LAKE SEASON OPENER
The search for the massive Lahontan Pilot Peak Cutthroat Trout continues, but it will be a month or two before water temps are cool enough to bring these world record cutties into shore. In the meantime, please use caution in your water crafts- if the wind picks up get to shore and throw a zig jig instead! (Creator of the Zig Jig, Richard Cross, will be at the lake this week- keep an eye out for this legendary angler!)
We hope you all have a fun and safe opener out at the lake! We are so excited to see what big fish this season will bring, hoping to see more 20 pounders and even bigger….
Happy fishing everyone, and please remember to respect the Tribe and the lake, and follow all regulations!
