The lake is fishing well right now! The water temps are good for the shoreline and the big fish are IN.
The last few days have produced some decent fish from shore, which is an improvement from the last few weeks. The most likely cause was the drop in temps, which have picked back up today with 62 for the high, and 70 tomorrow. So the long and short is that it’s hit and miss right now, and the deeper you can get your line the better. Temps are expected to drop around Tuesday with lows in the near 30 and into the 20’s, so that should improve shore fishing. Water temps are 58-60 degrees. If you’re headed out to Pyramid try planning your trip around a low pressure system or cold snap. Remember, shore fishing tends to turn OFF on blue bird days. Bring on the crappy weather!
Welcome to January Anglers! The start of the new year has been relatively slow for fishing on Pyramid Lake Nevada. The temperatures have been warm and the weather has been mild, quite unusual for this time of year, but big fish are still being landed to those that are devoted to putting in the hours.
Grant Jackson landed this nice one yesterday from shore, and a storm has moved in today- reports have been good so far!
