The season opener is rapidly approaching and we are now booking trips with our new guide and owner Ryan Dangerfield! Ryan comes with a wide range of experience on Pyramid, and has been guided on the lake for 6 years. He has additional guides that can take you out when he’s booked, including a float tube guide for the early season and calm days (Todd Keller). The calendar is feeling up fast! If you are new to fishing Pyramid Lake Nevada for the world’s largest cutthroat trout you might not be aware of the season dates. We’ve had a lot requests lately to book before the season opener so we thought a notification would be helpful. The season for fishing for non-tribal members is Oct. 1-June 30. Please read all Tribal regulations for further guidance.
We are awaiting Tribal approval on guide licenses, should be soon! Thanks for your patience. 🎣
We’ve had a mild winter on Pyramid Lake Nevada, which often means not great fishing, but not this season! The fishing has been good, with not too bad of crowds- weekends are busier.
Pyramid Lake Lodge is booking accommodations just a few weeks out, so if you are calling in for rooms with no luck keep trying. The store is open and they are doing takeout food.
The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe has opened the lake to the public, and has approved our guide license for the 2020-2021 season. We are now booking! Water temps are expected to drop in the next few weeks, which will be great for shore fishing. Get your rods ready!
Pyramid Lake Lodge is open for rooms and take out food. The Marina is also open. Permits are for sale online.
We are in the height of peak season on Pyramid! The fishing is great, even on bluebird days. Greg and Andy were able to hit a storm last weekend and reel in over 80 fish in just 3 days, including some Big Boys in the teens! We’ve had some dates open up in March so if you’ve been looking now is the time! Early April is a great time to fish Pyramid from shore as well.
