GROUP TRIP, GREAT DAY

We had a great day out on Pyramid with the crew from Tahoe Resources. Most of the group came in from Canada and had their first experience with fly fishing. We had a few 10 pounders to the net!

GREAT COUPLE OF DAYS

Van and Hutch out from Boise had a great couple of days on Pyramid Lake, NV! We are starting to see spring conditions for fishing the alkaline lake. Streamer and indicator techniques are both producing; pick your poison!

HIT AND MISS, SOME SHORE ACTION

The last few days have produced some decent fish from shore, which is an improvement from the last few weeks. The most likely cause was the drop in temps, which have picked back up today with 62 for the high, and 70 tomorrow. So the long and short is that it’s hit and miss right now, and the deeper you can get your line the better. Temps are expected to drop around Tuesday with lows in the near 30 and into the 20’s, so that should improve shore fishing. Water temps are 58-60 degrees. If you’re headed out to Pyramid try planning your trip around a low pressure system or cold snap. Remember, shore fishing tends to turn OFF on blue bird days. Bring on the crappy weather!

PYRAMID LAKE FISHING REPORT

The last storm dropped the surface temps clearing out the bait balls to deeper water. Reports have been slow from shore, with boaters and float tubers having better luck. The lake is in a transition phase right now, shore fishing will improve once more winter storms roll in and water temps drop below 55°. Crossing our fingers for more bad weather!
